Swedish Hotspot



Swedish Hotspot is a platform to promote and highlight the next generation of Swedish entrepreneurs and innovators.

The concept was officially launched in a unique collaboration between Business Sweden, Almi, Tillväxtverket at Slush 2015 and has since that been successfully used at Web Summit, Slush and now also as part of the Swedish Pavilion at Mobile World Congress.

As a participating company in the Swedish Hotspot you will be fully part of the Swedish Pavilion and get your own Wall Spot exhibition space during one of the first three days (26-28 February). On the last and forth day (1 March) you will share the Wall Spot with two other start-ups.

Swedish Hotspot participation includes:

  • 2x Entrance pass
  • 1x WIFI access in the Swedish Pavilion
  • 3x 30 minutes in the meeting room
  • Exhibition stand, type Wall Spot equipped with 32" screen during one day (Feb 26,27 or 28), shared exhibition stand with two other start-ups on the last day of MWC (1 March)
  • Part of the Swedish Pavilion at MWC18 promotional brochure and website
  • Featured in GSMA’s online and printed official MWC exhibitors directory
  • Basic press coordination and part of Business Sweden’s MWC communication
  • Networking with pre-invited stakeholders

Application is open until November 30th 2017. Business Sweden will then select six (6) companies* (first come, first served in accordance with applicable criteria) to participate to a fixed fee of SEK 25 000 per company.

Company criterias for participants in the Swedish Hotspot:

  • Company registered after 2014-12-31
  • Company has no more than 6 employees
  • Company has an annual turnover of no more than EUR 1 million
  • Company is not a subsidiary nor part of a group of companies that together exceed the above criteria
  • Company is not owned or controlled to the order of more than 25% by one or more companies jointly that do not themselves fulfil the aforementioned requirements (does not apply if the owner is a public investment company, a venture capital company or an institutional investor)
  • Incorrect information concerning the above, may result in recalculation of the participation fee
